Established

1965

In 1965, Alabama Labels + Graphics was originally known as  Alabama Labels.

Today, we have 3 divisions of printing production housed in our plant, along with our corporate offices and 10,000 sq. ft. distribution center.

1965

In 1965, Alabama Labels began with one 7" flexo press producing one and two color labels.

Today, we have 7", 10" and 13" presses to handle any label demands of our customers.

These presses are equipped to run both water and UV ink systems up to 8 colors.

We have 100% inspection systems that not only inspect print quality, but also confirm bar code quality, readability and color management.

Additionally, our in-line UV Inkjet presses have the capabilities to print variable data on each label.

1972

Screen Printing Division established

In 1972,  ALG added a flat bed, screen printing press to its capabilities producing safety and warning decals for OEM's.

Currently, ALG's screen division features several screen print lines with both flatbed and high speed cylinder presses.

The screen finishing department now includes cylinder and flatbed die cutters, digital die cutting, routers, hydraulic stamping equipment, automatic back slitter and large lamination equipment, making a wide variety of decals, aluminum nameplates, overlays and other screen printed products.

1978

ALG is approved as an Underwriters Laboratories label and decal manufacturer.

Since 1978, ALG has continued to add UL certified products that include flexo, screen and digitally printed products for outdoor and indoor use adhering to a multitude of surfaces with a variety of additional exposures like cooking oil, gasoline, high temperatures and salt water.

1990

In-House Art Department

ALG adds a dedicated Art Department to better serve our customers. With in-house plate making and Mac Professionals to expedite and provide all art services, ALG is able to react quickly to customer art changes.

1996

Digital Division Created

ALG established the Digital Division starting with a 60" solvent ink jet printer and a digital cutting system which added lower cost, short run, outdoor durable vinyl products, prototyping and quick turnaround decals for ALG customers.

The digital division now includes UV Inkjet for rigid and flexible substrates, water based ink jet, vinyl plotter cutting, thermal transfer and digital cutting with optical registration.

1998

New Name to Reflect Business Growth

ALG undergoes a name change, creating the need to have a name that reflected more than just a southeastern presence.

We re-branded to ALG Labels & Graphics for a more global reach that matches our customers, who now span across North America and internationally.

2000

MidSouth Design Acquired

This is significant as we continue to grow our business by acquiring MidSouth Design, Inc.

This acquisition added a second plant with significant flexo printing capabilities focusing on different markets.

2005

Product Manager Position added.

The addition of a Product Manager position helped guide our customers through new product development, testing product performance, assisting with UL Requirements and application engineering.

2007

Account Manager Positions added.

This new position enhanced our already developed Customer Service Team.

The account manager provides more complex services like VMI program design/implementation, set up of on-line catalogs, assimilation of customers with large number of parts, custom material agreements and any other unique service you require.

2013

ISO Certification

ALG is certified to the International Management System Standard. This certification reflects our commitment to quality in every aspect of the manufacturing process.

These standards are published by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization.

ISO 9001 outlines the requirements that organizations wishing to meet said standards must fulfill.

2015

ALG Distribution Center comes on-line

With the opening of the ADC, it has provided 10,000 sq. ft. of climate controlled warehouse space where we handle  inventory programs ranging in size from individual packs to full size pallets.

Currently, ALG services over 80 customers with some type of replenishment system.

The ADC staff manages these inventory programs that include over 8,000 different sku's and over 18,000,000 parts, meeting each customer's unique needs.

2015

ALG Marketing Department Added

With the addition of an in-house marketing department, ALG launches a new website, initiates a new branding campaign for ALG complete with an updated logo and newsletter.

2016

Total Plant Renovation

2016 marked a complete plant renovation.

Each division was evaluated for lean manufacturing processes and 5S, and based upon these evaluations, production equipment, materials and finishing capabilities were moved to best meet these needs.

Overall the flow of production was increased while also increasing the overall production capabilities in each division.

ALG Labels and Graphics is a custom manufacturer of pressure sensitive labels and decals celebrating over 50 years in business.  Our focus is delivering value to our customers with responsive service, quality products and low cost production.  Our mission is to make it easy for you to do business with ALG.
