Job Title:  Production Manager

Location:  Birmingham, Alabama

Reports To:   Plant Manager

 

Job Summary:   Lead daily production operations to safely manufacture quality products, delivered on time and be the low cost producer for the products and services provided. Manage and develop the production division team toward continuous improvement and total customer satisfaction.

Compensation Range:   Based upon experience

 

 

 

Education & Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's Degree in Printing, Operations Management, Engineering or like degree.

• Advanced ability in Microsoft Excel

• Analytical, creative and collaborative problem solver
• Mechanical aptitude and expert in maintaining, repairing and operating equipment
• Efficient executor of systems and active driver of enhancements

 

Experience: Minimum of 5 years :

 

• Proven success in supervising production leads and production team members to efficiently manufacture quality, on-time  products.
• 5S/Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Certification a plus
• Technical knowledge of the printing and converting industries, screen and inkjet printing a plus

Operations

 

•  Lead, manage and develop production division personnel

• Manage all divisional equipment, materials and resources efficiently and utilize effectively

• Champion ALG’s core values of responsiveness, quality, on-time, and serve as the low cost producer of goods and services provided

 

 

Continuous Improvement

 

• Develop and execute lean management best practices to increase cost efficiency

• Implement new equipment, technology and processes

 

Quality

 

• Test, train and grow internal processes focusing on improvement of product and process quality

• Maintain ALG's established Quality Management System

• Technical resource to employees, customers and vendors on products, materials and processes

 

Other Areas

 

• Responsive to all ALG personnel, customers and vendors in a timely and appropriate manner

• Project positive and professional behavior / attitude

• Follow administrative procedures established for inter / intradepartmental interaction.

• Additional tasks, duties and special projects may be assigned, as necessary
